Everyone driving in Lincoln CA area BEWARE!

Lincoln PD and Wheatland PD and some of Roseville PD have switched to Lidar!

I driving on a road in the backwoods and was popped! He was driving towards me and said he got me a 900 ft as I passed him. I did not know you could get a reading as you are approaching, also he was on a cycle so he would have had to have used one hand to shoot the thing and one hand to drive! Sucks!

I passed 3 of them that were under a tree and they were out of the their cars talking. I saw them point at me as I drove by. I then saw the cycle LEO pass me and stop and talk with the group under the tree for a few seconds. He then came up behind me and BLAM!

    Totally sucks!

First ticket in 10 years. Oh well!

Lidar can not be used while in motion. It calculates relative target speed only.

I only know of one laser system in use that has a moving mode. It costs several thousand dollars more than radar and last I knew was in use in Australia only.
Too lazy to have a cool sig...

So how did I get busted? The LEO that pulled me over said "he" clocked me at that.

Could the other LEO's standing outside clocked me and have some other LEO pull me over? I mean the LEO was pretty cool but, if I got a bum TX then...

I got popped from in front they said. My Beltronics 995 did not go off at all.

We have radar units in our patrol cars that can clock you when we are sitting still, driving behind you, or coming at you. They don't cost that much or we wouldn't have so many on our USAF squadron budget.

I got hit with Lidar last week...my V1 picked it up just fine...but it doesn't help when your the only one on the road speeding around a blind bend @ night with a cop hiding behind a 'welcome' sign. Time to splash on some Veil & install a Bel jammer!

Pretty much all of my tickets have been lidar and at 3 am. Mass pike, I-95 in georgia, Jersey turnpike, I-95 in florida...the list goes on and on...

The only radar ticket I got was after I slowed down cause my detector was telling me to and I saw it was "just" one of those lighted speed readers that flashes the numbers in red. Well as soon as I saw it was of those I sped up to make it flash and blamo - a cop hiding right behind it. Those cops are getting smarter, especially on open roads when no one is in any danger
I sure wish they'd spend more time on the real criminals and less on getting revenue. Since then I stopped speeding as much as possible.
