any pontiac is better than chevy model these days, and i am an old school chevy guy.
i agree dumping buick would be better but they are all high end cars now a days.
chevy has nothing anymore either does olds.
cadillac could survive on their own as an independant company but the pontiacs have always been the best cars gm made ('cept for a few that is) and i hate to see them dump the line like that.
    too bad!
they probably should have dumped the three different camaro's they make these days.
like the concept but producing a v6 with over 300hp factory isn't what people are looking for these days in this economy especially with hardly anyone leasing anymore.
    i cry foul on this...............
the end of their last retrobution.
    cheers!

BUICK IS ANYTHING BUT luxury. i had a 08 lacross and it drives like a boat. woodgrain is cheap looking plastic. remote start equipped on some crappy '90s looking remote. since cadillac is luxury and chevy is boring, what niche does buick fit? cos its not luxury.

    they need pontiac for performance.

The good news is ". But Pontiac was also not to be killed or sold off, as were Saturn, Saab and Hummer.Instead Pontiac was to continue on as a "niche brand" focusing on just a few models."

I just don't like the grand prix glad I pick my mag over it. I went to the grand prix forums and nothing but complaints. But I still love how they look. Glad they killed that aztek that was a horrible looking vechicle lol

A sad day indeed! Always loved my Pontiacs....man!!

I still have 3 Trans Ams now (69, 71 & 99) and would have loved to have seen a new one built over the Camaro.

GM needed to forget all their divisions and just concentrate on car segments in the past and now it may be too late......ie, family, economy, utility, performance and luxury. Take the best of each division and group them together in consumer segments. They had too many divisions, models and dealers and now they are forced to kill a whole division at a time versus saving certain cars to become one better company.
