Driving shoes for only thirty bucks

You folks have perhaps seen driving shoes on sale. What do they do? Their thin soles let you have a better feel for the pedal, let your foot flex more easily for more precise pedal control and their stickiness or abrasiveness promotes a sure, slip-free grip on the pedal.

The down side? A halfway decent pair will easily set you back a C-note.

Forget that. A "water shoe" will typically net you the same deal: ultralight, sticky soles, great feel thru the highly flexible sole. Just wear a pair of socks and they're basically slippers you can wear all over the place without looking *too* goofy.

I got a pair of Speedo brand shoes last year and wear them all over, not just when driving. I just saw them on sale at Costco again and picked up another pair for this year. Same shoes but different colors. Got the blue ones this year.

Do yourself a favor, get yourself some and put em on before you go for a drive. They're perfect for the upcoming low-impact Spring LX Festival Autocross Event.

I have a very expensive pair of Simpson racing boots that I HAVE to wear when I am running my race car in competive events.

However, for fun driving and performance lapping with my 300C SRT8 street car, I much prefer my $12.00 (on sale) surf shoes from Wally World. Very comfortable and I can feel the smallest feedback from the brake pedal.
Almost as good as driving barefoot!

Never give the competition an inch

Dude my favorite pair of driving shoes are lugz with 2" thick soles

Okay, I usually wear jordans when driving. I haven't worn Lugz in ages, but I did drive with them before.

Yeah I think *any* beach or water shoe will work fine. Speedo has some cheapies with an MSRP under twenty bucks that will no doubt work great with some thin socks. I like the Costco Speedos cuz I wear em around all day and they hold up pretty good.

That's what I do too...during the summer at least...given my size limitations that is my best solution

I participated in the last weekend of the SRT:TE last year and got a pair of Piloti Spyders for $50 instead of the usual $100. Good idea with the shoes though, Matt.
