    Draining Coolant

Anyone out there try draining your coolant?
I turned drain plug but nothing comes out.
I even removed upper hose but nothing comes out.

If you're dumping all of the coolant, you'll need to remove the plug on each side of the block with the cap off.

They're on each side of the block, almost in the center. They're pipe threaded studs that require a hex key to remove. You can reuse them. Very messy too.....

I have been using a shop vac for years on various engines from chevy small blocks to snomobile engines. Pull the upper rad hose, connect the vac and turn it on, shut it down in a few minutes. It will lower the level in the block below the deck so you can lift the heads without filling the jugs and having to clean up afterwards. I have NOT tried it on the hemis, maybe if someone does....

Zerex G-05 is supposedly the same as the OEM Mopar coolant, just without the orange dye.
