    Dont use these dash kits!!!!

Just a heads up to everyone that NYCDashes
sold me a 87 piece interior kit, I gave it to the installers that do all the dealer installs and after he installed a few pieces he called to tell me the kit sucks ass. The edges of all pieces are razor sharp and he actually got cut. They claim a full 30 money back return, I called them and they told me Im SOL.
Since we peeled the 3m off the back of 5 pieces they wil not return my money. Im calling my CC now to put in a claim.
    So to NYCDASHES

    YOU SUCK!

    Sorry to hear this.
Try Exotic dashes or wood dash experts. Both looked good to me in person.

I have a kit from exoticwoodtrim.com and it turned out pretty nice. I've received more than a few compliments on it.

NY Dash, Exotic Dash and Wood Dash Experts are all the same company...

I posted a thread a week ago about Wood Dash Experts, same issue.. they refused to refund my money, and I never got my dash kit, and they never sent it..

they told me it was discontinued and I would have to choose something else..

Paypal got my money back for me (used a paypal debit card)

Odd. I dealt with them a while back on a kit for my old R/T and was floored by their customer service, and product.

Which kit did you get? Mine was the genuine Carbon Fiber and it was flawless.

BTW: It very clearly states on their website, inside of the packaging instructions and on your invoice that they will take returns UNLESS you peel the 3M backing off. Did you not see that disclaimer?

While they cover their butts w/ that statement, it sure seems like just that... a CYA clause. The alternative is what, test-fitting 78 or however many pieces to make sure they all fit right and doing it twice just in case you held one a little crooked or something, and if you have a problem with one piece halfway through the install, then what?

Not to sound like a smartazz or anything, but I followed the directions. It said to test fit all the pieces to assure best fit, and I did so. Took maybe an extra 10 minutes, but I was secured. If at that time a piece or two did NOT align perfectly i was told that as long as the 3M backing was on there, that they would send a replacement/exchange on any poorly fitting pieces. Mine were all perfect though.

I'm not knocking the OP here, but companies do put disclaimers like these up for a reason, and in this case it is in triplicate... kinda hard to miss really.

Exactly, we peeled 5 pieces, The kit was all brushed aluminum. I wasnt there and the installer was paid to install so it really wasnt his job to tell me the kit sucked. Not tell he cut himself did he finally call and say somethings not right.

See, that's why I asked what type of kit it was.

Your installer does know that the edge of aluminum is sharp right? I mean before he found out the hard way....

I fail to see how that is a defect of the product.

Why not just paint your dash instead? It would look less ricer and look like it belongs there. Plus, Id admire you since I am too chicken sh!t to do it myself...

    Bandit,
The part that bothers me is that the kit really isnt safe. Its sold as quality top notch kit but its actually dangerous, If I had little ones in and out of my car like alot of folks do this would be a nightmare, Its my fault for not running my fingers down the edges prior to having it installed, And it is my fault for having the installer put on a few pieces before figuring it out. So I guess they covered there ass well. I guess Im just used to getting pretty quality stuff for my C and this just wasnt gonna work.
I have something different coming to me friday.
