Don't Do 100mph With the Windows Down

I found out the limit my headliner would withstand with the windows down. On a rally after a M & G was doing about 100 and then I started hearing something flapping in the back and look in my rearview mirrow and I see te headliner flapping up and down. I put the windows up. When we stopped I looked and there is a piece of velcro that is glued to the back of the headliner and the roof. The adhesive gave way on the side attached to the roof. Gotta get some superglue and put it back on. It was kinda funny.

Not something I want to hear. You have to keep your windows rolled down for track days and I pass 100 in at least three different places on each lap at my local track.

There's a TSB for this, in fact.

Just make sure when they drive it back in there with their self-tapping screw, they don't come through the roof with it. Seen it.

Was pushing 120 down the straight at Willow Springs with the front windows down as required, no problems at all.

No, I just have to superglue where the adhesive came loose. I saw where there was a piece of plastic covering a screw or something but that was still attached. Guess I'm glad that wasn't what broke.

At the dragstrip you have to run with your windows UP (at least at Atlanta Dragway anyway) and when I cross the finish line, which is right about 100mph, I run down the left side windows - makes one HELL of noise but that flowing air feels soooo good...

At Silver Dollar Raceway I forgot to close my sunroof (hey it was HOT!) when I did my burnout and filled the car with smoke - at the big end when I did the windows, watching all the smoke get sucked out of the car was pretty cool. Came out almost instantly.

I've never driven beyond the national speed limit, except for that time I got caught for speeding.
