    DEATH wobble???

well guys the magnum recently has been giving me quite the shake in the steering wheel lately and i have no idea what it could be, i just recently changed my steering rack out of a srt8 and had all the inners and outers replaced in the front as well... my issue is that when driving down the road the steering wheels wants to jerk side to side and when i go over any kind of bump theres a noise coming from the front end like something is loose, it almost feels like something is out of round, but all the rims are balanced up perfectly.

if anyone may have any idea to what it may be can u please inform me asap...its been driving me NUTS!!

    thanks all

    chris

Did you change the pump when you changed the rack? The SRT pumps are slightly different.

If you changed the rack and tie rods, it is imperative you get an alignment!
I would schedule an alignment, and let them know about your wobble/clunk.
If something is actually loose/worn out, a good front end guy should catch it.

Go back and ask them to test drive it, they might figure out whats wrong, or at least have an idea where to start looking.

new rotors all around...im starting to think wheel bearings...but can a wheel bearing give you a out of round feeling when driving and can it make ur steering wheel shake side to side without feeling any play when jacking up the car and checking???.....

I had the wobble but only at 80 to 85mph. Anything above or below and I was fine. Ended up putting on new rotors/pads, tires, road force balance, alignment, etc. and it got better but not completely right. Finally took off my metal srt8 valve stem caps and viola, no more shake. Crazy.
