Death Race - Previewed

We (The DFWLX Club) were lucky enough to get 30 free passes from Universal to go see the new movie "Death Race" last night in Dallas (releases August 22nd, here is what I thought

1. There is a character in the movie, a bitch of a lady that runs the prison, this bitches name Hennessy, I personally thought that was hilarious (http://www.300cforums.com/forums/gen...own-board.html)

2. I went into the movie thinking this would be another plot less mass explosion of special effect and cursing movie that would impress me about as much as the 40th time I watch Die Hard, Boy was I wrong, I would rate the movie about a 7 out of 10, Others gave it Two Thumbs up and anywhere from 6.5 to 9......It had some very clever moments, the writer has a great sense of humor and there were some great shots

3. MY CAR (well not MY car) was in the movie, one of the vehicles used was a 300, although it did not make it till the end of the movie, Much props were given to MOPAR

Over all, I would say this would be a great movie to go see on the big screen

Im kinda looking forward to seeing this movie!! So far it sounds like it will be a good flick.

I remember the original as a kid.
"Death Race 2000" seemed so far away...

I've still got "Death Race 2000". Just watched it again last week.
It's so terrible that it's fun to watch.
I hope the new one is as good as you say.

Rob, I was wondering why you mentioned Hennessy, after reading that link - now I know.

I can vouch for the preview - saw it with the DFWLX crew and it was actually pretty good. Your girl may be bored out of her mind, but had good action and kept moving. Think along the lines of a Mad Max or if your a gamer - Twisted Metal.
