Had that once before. Try rocking the steering wheel each direction and twisting the key.

    Good luck with it.

No steering lock on LX or LC vehicles, so this won't work.

is this still the result from your pink thingy repair? have you adjusted the ignition interlock cable? if so, i'd be checking all parts were reassembled correctly. many have done this repair and i haven't read about anyone else with this problem ???

Hmm, never noticed that. It must have been on the Turbo Volvo. What a waste of a turbo that was. My wife liked the Volvo so I required the upgraded model.

this is a mechanical issue. no electrical diagnostics.

KEY WILL NOT ROTATE TO THE LOCK POSITION.
    1. Misadjusted Park Lock cable. 1. Adjust Park Lock cable. i posted instructions in one of your other threads.
    2. Misadjusted gearshift cable. 2. Adjust gearshift cable. i posted instructions in one of your other threads.
    3. Burrs on ignition key. 3. Remove burrs and cycle key several times to verify operation.
    4. Binding or broken components. 4. Inspect system components and repair/replace components as necessary.

please update your vehicle profile in User CP so we don't have to keep guessing. thank you.

i looked up an ignition lock cylinder for an '05 LX: P/N 5083915AB $129.00 cad. + coding (approx $35.00).
