Creaking breaks

Well I went to the dealership today to get the corrosion on my rims fixed as well as have them look at the suspension and breaks. For the last month or so the car has had a creaking when coming to a stop with the breaks on. And then when you let off its almost like the breaks were sticking and theres a clunk. This happens most of the time. Anyways they told me the pads are aftermarket and its probably a hard spot in the pad. Well Ive owned the car since 11000Kms and I cant see the pads needing replaced in that time period. Could this be the tierods? I know these cars have a weakness in the front. Any ideas. Kinda want to get this fixed before the warranty is up.

need to lightly sand the pads, spray compound onto friction surface. bed in the brakes.
