Corrosion in O2 sensor harness plugs.

Heads up for you folks who drive in the salt belt. My RT Magnum threw a CEL yesterday and this morning on the way to dealer CEL began flashing car ran rough and even lightly backfired. I diagnosed an O2 sensor problem with the trusty Superchip tuner. So mechanic pulled each O2 sensor and surprise, found the plug connectors badly corroded. He replaced all 4 and this time coated them with dielectric grease. Next time you have your car on the lift, you might want to coat your connectors with some dielectric grease. My car is heading to 121,000 miles and Maine uses an shiatload of salt. Dealer took me right in without calling, 4 new O2 sensors, harnesses and labor less than $200! KUDOS to Bangor Dodge!
