Collision Repair - Magnum - Help, Please :( Experts, 402 anyone else also!!

I'm located in Tucson, AZ and have taken my 06 Magnum RT to get repaired. It had some MINOR damage done to it thank god on the MINOR part. Looks like it was either from a door being opened into it or some crappy driver in a parking lot even though I park 5 miles away from everyone else. So in the right rear fender there is a marble sized dimple and some small scrapes. As well as minor scraping on the lower portion of the bumper. So the tail light is going to need to be taken off and the bumper is going to get taken off. The tail light seems to be pretty straight forward, my concern is the rear bumper how does that come off? How is it secured from factory? I want the shop its at to replace everything as it was fresh off the line as far as assembly is concerned. Did they use the plastic rivets on these or how is it on there and what should I look for to make sure its been done properly as far as being secured and factory original per say? Thanks for all the help, I feel like I dropped off my kid for brain surgery! :(

Sounds like a pretty straight forward minor repair. The rear bumper uses plastic rivets an other plastic clips that are generally not reuseable, but the shop would already know that. I think your stressing to much. Most shops are capable of doing quality repairs. Its only when we have to battle with Insurance companies that things get messed up.

Good luck in your repair and try to relax!

Look on the bright side...the orange peel couldn't come out any worse than it did from the factory if they do a terrible paint job.

What's that? I'm not being helpful? Sure I am.

It's a good shop, I just want the stuff done right. They painted one of my Buick GN's and it looks amazing. They really know whats going on but like I said it's like my kids going under the knife. I guess the bright side is they told the insurance company to go to hell and said they need to repaint/repair/clear the entire rear bumper not just a small section of it like they had quoted on the repair estimate. I just didn't know if it was some crazy amount of work to get the rear fascia off or not. I looked at the LX repair manual (thank god for remote desktop so I could pull it up from home on my work pc) and see that it's pretty much cake.

    Thanks for the info!!!
