I have been working on a special project for the last few months and its almost 50% complete. I would let you all in on it but then it would not be as climatic as possible and there is no way that anyone could out do the famous “LX Forums Randy.”
The first company that I would like to review is Cleveland pick a part. I have had the pleasure of meeting the owner and one son on a journey that I made there, so what a bonus.
Cleveland pick a part in my opinion, (this is my opinion and represents only what I feel and does not reflect the opinion of LX Forums) is a top notch company that provides used and some times new parts of numerous platforms of cars. The main platform that I am interested in is the LX, aint we all.
I first came across Cleveland Pick-A-Part, when one of the forums member was talking about getting new seats for an upgrade to an SRT. I browsed Ebay and found numerous postings of great things that they offered so I was a little interested.
Time when on and I saw other users talking about Cleveland Pick-A-Part and thought I would give them a call about some things that I was interested in. I was put in contact with Jason of internet sales and we exchanged numerous emails, some issues that we were trying to resolve were shipping. They had an international shipping company that they could recommend but I thought I was going to go with a company based out of Texas because we were going to ship other items from Texas.
After talking for about a month and things not working out in Texas, I decided to not go through with my initial plan and cut the order in half. During the whole time Jason was full of information and provided different possibilities to solve the shipping dilemma we still had. We came to the conclusion that we would ship through USPS, some times USPS can be a pain in the but Cleveland Pick-A-Part, has shipping down pat.
So we made the transaction, things were shipped out and two weeks later, parts arrived.
I was quite satisfied with the quality of the parts and the packing of the parts and there is an invoice, great.
So we go to do the install and everything is going perfect then one part is not working out.. We try swapping sub –components of the part, but it didn’t work. My mechanic did some measurements and it was determined that some how, it was bent by two degrees almost invisible with the untrained eye. So I’m like damn, I get on a computer and send Jason and email and he says that they would do what ever it takes to fix the issue. So Im still worried about getting this really fixed because Its not like Im down the street from them.
Well bad luck kept going my way and the same week I had to make an emergency trip back to the states, but what luck I could take the parts back and FEDX them to Cleveland and get the repaired parts..
My luck improved and a week later, I was on the phone talking to Jason again telling him I would be doing a face to face visit. Finally after driving for three hours, flying over 6000 miles, going through numerous customs inspections and being asked what is that chunk of steel, I finally see :
I was greeted by Brian, one of the mechanics and I showed him what the issue was he contacted Brian the owners son and both Brians immediately went to work to resolve the issue. While waiting, they gave me a little tour and I saw the packing station they have to ship all the goodies across the world, (and I thought I was special).
We were able to get everything resolved and since I was there, I browsed around and looked for some other goodies that I might need.
Brian, the son of the owner, helped me locate a lower interior panel, where the 300c button to open the trunk is located, and gave it to me for free. I thought he was joking but he said yep, free!
So with my free gift, good part, and rain starting to fall; my kids and I hopped back on the road for our three hour return trip to their home. I flew home the next day getting again, numerous looks from the customs inspectors.
Overall I’m happy with Cleveland Pick-A-Part, It was nice to meet the two Brains and Jason.
If you need something call them and they will work with you. I’ll be doing business with them again.
