    Cleaning off Bugs

I commute in my magnum, so I get quite a few bugs in the grill and nose.

What do you use to clean off the bugs?

(Please don't suggest a car bra. I really don't like the look, the hassle or the possible damage it can cause.)

    Try driving backwards

Just kidding, this is what I use http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...rtnumber=03607

I commute 45 miles to work and suffer the same problem. This stuff works well and doesn't harm the paint or finish.

    Thanks sweeper 6...

Does it require a lot of elbo grease? It also says that it removes the wax so I assume you have to put a fresh coat of wax on after you use it.

I always keep a clean wet wash cloth in the car and when I get to my destination, I clean the bugs off the front end and the windshield with the wet cloth. I then dry the windshield with bounty paper towels so I don't have to look through the smear marks. When I get back home, I use a quick detailer spray with a microfiber cloth to keep the front end with a waxed like finish. Been doing this with all my vehicles for over 15 years.

I bought some glass cleaner from Costco that is in a spray can. It foams. I just spray it on, let it set for a second or two and then wipe it off with a microfiber cloth (I'm a Costco junkie...I bought them there too).

I put a clear bra on mine, and I still use the same technique on the bugs.

I go and pressure wash just the front. Also you can always have a CLEAR bra installed.

That's funny, I have an old can of the turtle wax bug and tar remover in my garage. I didn't know they still make it. I'm afraid to use it since auto paint has changed since I bought it. I'll pick up the new formula and give it a try. Thanks.

Keeping a wet rag in the car sounds like a challange. By the time I get there it would definitely be dry.

(besides they already hassle me at work about how clean my car is, that would be the end of it if they saw me in the parking lot rubbing her off)

I was using Meguires detail spray and a microfibre cloth, but it took a LOT of rubbing. And I was afraid that all those little bug parts are making scratches in my paint.

    Thumbs up

Another great thing about Zaino.... bugs wipe right off...

Zaino also has the 'Z-6 Ultra clean Gloss Enhancing Spray' for those on the go touch ups and such... This stuff is also Anti-static, so less road dust stick'n the the Big butt of the Mag...

Really guys, I can't recommend Zaino enough! A bit of work initially ( if you do it right.. clay bar etc.. ) but the actual polishes are super easy to put on and maintain... Cut my car wash times in half... Only down side... Their soap is specially balanced so it doesn't hurt the polish... so, if ya wanna keep it the best, it's hand wash only!

DO NOT pressure wash the front.... I did and part of my paint peeled off.

When I told the dealer he said not to use anything stronger than a garden hose... so I got HOSED on getting it fixed under warranty.

Your dealer hosed you. Go to another dealer. I've pressure washed every car I've owned for years. Even had one truck completly repainted after I blew every bit of paint off I could (after it started peeling of course).

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

What about the dirt on the tailgate? Maybe it's just where I live and the paint color (Cool Vanilla) but does anyone know how to keep the dirt from sticking?
