Introducing the "GIGANTICAI" my new DIY CAI!

I am not done building it but I got her all together and fitted. The room is tight but its in there good. As I mentioned lqst week I was rebuilding my diy CAI and that I wanted to go big. Based on the fact the Airhammer, AFE, and C&L show improvements over the rest. But all I can se is that they are all much bigger than the rest with more interior volume. Now I don't no if its any better but on that concept I searched for the biggest parts I could get. And I came up with this 5.5"' pipe "instead of 4" "straight to the throttle body on a 6"x10" filter. I am very impressed so far, its a little louder than my old one not sure about performance. "I just got the Diablo so it feels fast all the time now". But hey I'm proud of it. I still need to sand and paint and work on an mount. I put all this together last night, I was up till 3AM and ended late for work. I had to cut off the bolt to hold the old filter box it was rubbing my filter scarring it. I plan on buying this universal mount kit tonight at pepboys http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/SPT8701.htm "Update dont get the kit coudn't get an angle to work with hood closed. It will work with my V1.0 or the frankentake".
I still need to trim some of the pipe, but boy this thing is HUGE in person. I think I may have the biggest intake that I have seen now. LOL
Just wanted to show off what I have been working on. Thanks for the Frankentake to get this larger version started. I think it looks smaller in the pics.

    Comments negative/positive are welcome thanks.

Oh yeah and what color should I paint the pipe silver or black?
    My DIY intake V 1.0

And my new honkin intake V2.0

    Update more pics below.

Its a 5.5" to a 4" the most expensive piece on the whole site. I also purchased a 4" to 3.5" reducer but it was to big and would not fit on the throttle body with it all together. so I squeezed the 4" down and it looks better now anyway. I have less than a inch from the belt pulley system but with a bracket it should be safe. All the info was from the Frankentake link got to give credit.

Ok, cool.. I was looking at that. Did you need to use one of the 4" to 3.5" adapters then?

    holy CRAP!

    :D

One change I would definitely make is to put a T-bolt clamp at the TB instead of just using the hose clamp. That hose clamp will come loose I bet. Plus the t-bolt will be wider and maybe spread the stress around a little.
