Check this out, Guy In AZ fighting HOA parking cops: good read

So there is this guy in AZ that is fighing the HOA parking cops in his neighborhood. They booted his Audi and then he put it on dollies and rolled it into his garage. It started on a thread on a general car forum and has since gotten something like 800,000 hits. The original thread has been locked and now there is an entire web forum dedicated to this. You guys gotta read this it is funny as hell.

Bottom line is, NEVER move into one of these damned housing developments with a HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION!!!! Maybe what people need to do is have the contracts altered to exclude certain items. The selling of homes is so low now that sellers might be willing to make concessions in order to sell.
It is obvious that these builders have figured out a way to make money off of
people forever with these goofy HOA's.
Don't let these nazi scumbags walk all over your rights!

I was wondering where it went. I started reading this on the vortex starting from page 28 and got all the way to 60 and then started waiting on updates on the 20th and noticed that they shut it down on the 21st on that website. I am glad you posted where I can get the updates. Thanks.

I agree about the HOA thing though. I wont even look at a house that is in a HOA development. They do have their place and can be usefull. But for car guys, we just dont mix with HOAs.

I love this guy!! 6 years ago I sued my county over what I considered an unconstitutional gun ordinace. I filed pro-se, and they backed down and eliminated the ordinance.

    I love the guy's moxy!

I would NEVER EVER live in a place with an HOA. If it meant I had to live in a tent. I have said that for 20 years. NO HOA. Period. This is an example of WHY. Now... if everyone in the development WANTS one... good on them. I just will not live there. Too many horror stories.

HOA - Home Owner's Association? You're kidding, right? I get 2 in the garage and 2 in the driveway plus street parking. It's called TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY AND READ THE DAMN PAPERWORK BEFORE YOU SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE!.

If that's not what HOA is, then carry on :-) Don't have time to read the site right now.

    Agreed with Super T.

It never fails to amaze me how folks will sign without even glancing at the paperwork and then complain. (sorta like the "I Agree" when signing up to this site? )

I've been a member of three HOA's and all have had their quirks, but all have been beneficial and I was glad to have them. I guess being run by the actual home owners makes a difference. HOA's in my experience, like most things, will give back what you put in.

And an HOA's existence has nothing to do with the price of the home or area. I live in the shadows one of the top most expensive communities in the country... and they have a very productive and valuable HOA.
