Unhappy Changed battery in my FOB now range stinks

I recently changed the battery in my fob because it wouldn't unlock unless I was standing right on top of the vehicle. I never got the REK warning in the EVIC, but when the range decreased I assumed it was the battery.

After changing the battery in the fob, the car will only unlock if I am right next to it and most times I have to hit the unlock button several times before it will unlock the car.

Anyone else have any issues after changing out the battery in the fob?

be willing to bet that the battery connection on the key fob is loose and needs to be resoldered.

known problem on the 2005's and 2006's

Just a tip. After changing my battery, it worked intermittantly at best so I placed a dime under the battery to make sure it stayed in place and remained connected to the clamps. It has worked like a charm since!!

Ditto, I found the same thing, took it apart , cleaned the connections, re-tensioned the tabs and all is good now!

When I changed the battery the connection to the board to the top of the fob came loose. I pressed it back in and it seemed to stay. Looks like I need to break out the old solder gun and give it a go. Thanks for the reply.
