    Cel

This weekend, both Saturday and Sunday our Magnum set a CEL while driving to our destinations. Checking with my Predator, there was a P0520 both days, and on Sunsay for good measure a P01129 which the car has thrown randomly since October last year after the 6.1 exhahust manifolds and mids installation.

The 1129 doesn't cause immediate concern, but the 520 does as it is an oil pressure sensor circuit issue. After seeing that, I did check the oil level and it was fine, EVIC read the oil pressure at idle as 17 PSI, and it does rise with throttle and increasing RPM. Is it reasonable to have a bad oil pressure sensor at less than 35K miles? Don't track the car, but do move it rapidly at times on the streets and freeways.

    Advice needed please,
    Michael

A bad sending unit is tripping the p0520. You will need a new one. Mopar OE 5.7L oil pressure sending unit part number: 05149062AA. (that's the one I used, not sure if other models use the same)

It is located behind the alternator. I had to replace mine sometime last year.

How to change the oil pressure sensor

Thanks to gameover, took a member from the city of my birth to finally answer my request. Thanks for the link, had found it on my own, but was hoping it would be a simpler less expensive, ans less invasive fix. Is it typical for these to go bad at such low mileage?
