    Camming up a 5.7

    http://popularhotrodding.com/enginem.../0602phr_hemi/

I know this is a crate motor, and they used a FAST ECU which is part of our issue.. but they got almost 500hp from a creat 5.7 with just a cam and headers!!

yeah there are some posts floating around about this. the power is there, but you gotta get around MDS, and the ECU (for those who dont wanna piggyback). And its also the truck hemi, which i thought had some other subtle differences. da well.................still cool to know. nice (re)find.

hmm... kinda figured this had floated around before.. However it does led an insight as to the potential for the 5.7. If they got that power that easily imagine what we will be able to do with heads, a better intake, ect... This has my wheels turning now about dropping one into my cuda. I could easily get 550hp out of it which is what my 440 is making. and it probably weighs 200lbs less.

the heads in stock untouched form will flow enough to produce that power. just look at waht a ls1 chevy is doing and this 5.7 should perform the same or better. i would think better.
