Any of you guys who have one on your daily driver, in particular the K&N. Do you have problems in inclement weather? Want to get one but I need to know how much I need to be concerned about sucking in water.

What K&N sells is not a CAI. A CAI is normally routed lower in the car to a place where it gets cold air, hence the term Cold Air Intake. A true CAI may encounter problems since it sits so low to the ground that it can suck up water if going through a somewhat flooded area.
What you are referring to is a SRI (Short Ram Intake).

Thanks for setting me straight. Didn't realize that.

Typically the intakes that are out on the market now should not cause a problem as the filter sits in the same location as the stock filter so water getting sucked in would be pretty tough to pull off.
I live in Seattle.. No issues at all with mine...

If you are in deep enough water that you could hydrolock your motor witha K&N, you'll have bigger problems than that. Like breathing :-)
If you are really worried put on a K&N Dry Charger . It keeps your filter cleaner too.

READY WHEN YOU ARE
I ran a custom FWI(Fenderwell Intake) on my 98 GTP. Never had a problem and the filter was RIGHT in front of the driver's side front tire with no protection. Ran it 3 seasons of the year, and towards the end, ran it in the snow as well. No issues with the car, other than the sound of the blower gave people heart attacks :D

I used to have a CAI in my Elantra. (Yes it was a Hyundai). I hydrolocked the engine like 3 or 4 times and blew it once. The other time I blew then engine was because I bought the wrong cam gear and totally screwed up the timing.
But back to the CAI, it was really low in the fender. I'd say about 8-10" from the ground or so. and we all know it can get flooded quickly in Miami.
Also, if you have a CAI, you can get a bypass valve which will turn your CAI into a SRI if it comes into contact with water.
BTW, a week after I traded in my car they gave it an oil change but forgot to add new oil. Guess what happened!!! The engine blew!! lmao

Well you could still breath with an F-IV but I have to believe if you are in standing water that is so high it is over and above the airhole in the engine cavity (what is that... 2, 2 1/2 feet?) and if firm contact with the engine and the headers... WAY bigger problems than hydrolocking. I think the motor will have stalled, or the car will have been swept over the waterfall or something.
There was a time when I had my upper rad baffles off the car, which exposed the filter to direct rain (when it was really raining). And car wash spatter. Still no issues.
