Cabin filter install question
I had some time yesterday, and since it was overcast outside I decided to add the cabin filter modification to my car. I went pretty much by the instructions since I had looked them over several times. It was easy enough but still a royal P.I.T.A. to get it in correctly because of the tabs that are sticking out in the way. By the way, I found if you place a piece of cardboard across the two tabs it makes it a hell of alot easier - I didn't figure that out right away though. In my haste to get the job done, I didn't really pay attention to the torque amounts they had stated in the directions. They stated 53-62 INCH-pounds, well not noticing close enough, I tightened them to a little over 50ft-lbs! My question is what can this hurt other than squishing the foam completely? I really dont look forward to pulling things all apart again, espcecially if it is not really necessary but I will if it could cause some kind of problem down the road that I'll have to deal with. Any thoughts? Other than the obvious "what a Dumb*ss!" I should have had my glasses on. Oh well.
