    Is this A/C sound normal?

Whenever I turn on my A/C it is followed by a loud hiss that tends to continue for quite a bit. The air does get cold fairly quickly, but the hiss sound is always there. As soon as I turn the A/C off, it stops.

Is this something that comes with age of the A/C unit? Is this normal?

Mine is a 2005 and just started doing this over the past year or so.

    Thanks!

Hey Bryan (you spell ur name the same way I do)

I get sort of a hissing sound when its real cold out when I first start my car. The higher up the fan speed i choose the louder it gets. Is this what ur hearing aswell?

This goes away ive noticed once the car is warm (for me anyway)

Stuff a pony's hood with one of the multi-throat-carbureted monster motors, and it could fog the landscape with testosterone and tire smoke

Yeah...Y is the only way to spell it...in my opinion..LOL.

No, it only seems to happen when it's warm outside (yesterday in Dallas was low 80s). I get the feeling that maybe a hose is loose and something escaping, or that's just my imagination.
