Well let me tell you about my little nightmare... I own a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T and within a month of buying the car I noticed the dash buzzing and an audible buzz coming from the rear speakers (with the radio off), at the time I didnt think much of it and upon my first dealer inspection I mentioned it to the service manager, he heard the noise and assured me they would look into it and repair as required. Ok, so I have had my car back to them and another local 5 star dealer more than 8 times attempting to resolve this problem, in that time they have replaced (2 Radios) (1 set of speakers) (1 headlight switch) every ground in the car checked and most recently (a complete dash) trying to locate this noise. Well I really lost it on the Service Mgr after the dash repair failed to resolve the problem and insisted they find a solution. The Service M.G.R also had another Magnum exibiting the same problems that they owned on the lot and got the OK from D.C.X. to attempt to rewire a component of the dash in an attempt to solve the problem except it failed and resulted in melting the dash of there dealer car. This has been going on for close to 11 months now and I have finally had enough, after numerous calls to D.C.X. customer care and after the dash replacement I was informed by D.C.X. that the noise is within operating paramaters and to live with it...NOT. I have informed D.C.X. that a new car should not make this type of sound and find it to be completely unacceptable, also if it is within operating paramaters then why did they attempt to repair it 8 times and use a truck load of parts trying so. At this point I have engaged the best lawyer I can find and will be informing D.C.X. that I intend to sue them for replacement of the vehicle. I will keep you all posted on my adventure as it unfolds. I love my Magnum R/T but not buzzing like it has a hornets nest in the dash and speakers.
NOTE: I also own a 2006 Charger that has the identical dash and it doesnt make any noise!
1.) with the ignition in the on position (radio off) I am getting a faint but obvious static sound from the speakers,
primarily from the rear set
2.) I am getting a obvious buzzing sound from what seems to be the headlight switch, (with the headlights on) when I turn the dash lights up, the variable brightness control for the interior lights, you can hear an audible buzzing sound from the dash??
No its not the noise in my head that's a completely different tone (lol)
Do any of you hear these noises eminating from your car?.

Ohhh... sounds like poltergeists!![]()
Sorry to hear of your problem. I've not heard of this one before. Good luck on your fight with DCX. It sounds to me like they're fighting a loosing battle. If the service departments didn't agree there was a problem, they wouldn't have gone through all the work they did. Sucks that they couldn't get it fixed though.
Inferno Red '05 Magnum RT AWD - Who says the AWD sits too high?!
German influenced garage queen .................... German engineered daily driver
So they never found the nest of bees that took up residence in your dash? Maybe you should have taken it to a beekeeper instead of a dealer. Sorry, man, I couldn't resist. Maybe you can get it declared a lemon and they'll be forced to buy it back. Good luck.
Thanks moparman53 and MyMaggieMae, I think I stand a good chance of getting a new car from them. Sadly our laws in Canada require me to take it to the level of a legal action for me to get any type of responsible feedback from D.C.X. but its ok, I havent fed my Lawyer recently!![]()
