    Buying Floor Jack - Suggestions?

Well my cheapass 50 dollar floor jack finally went,
i assume it is a seal gone bad because this weekend it just didnt lift anything.

So anyone have a good reccomendation on a floor jack?
lower profile for a lowered car?
    our cars are heavy
something that wont totally break the bank

    thanks guys

I picked up an aluminum low profile craftsman from Sears for $179. It was on sale. I've always bought cheaper jacks in the past and they don't compare to this one.

I was at Super T's yesterday and he told me his large (Craftsman?) 3 ton jack, 3 ton jackstands and creeper all came together as a package for about $100.

Maybe you should PM him to get the exact details

    i may do that,
ive already got 4 jackstands so i dont know if i need 2 more taking up space in my tiny garage
im hurting on space already with this going on:

    --

the ratings on the crafstman one give me a little scare... and how trustworthy is a 4000 lbs jack when being used on a car that weighs 3950-4200 depending on race day or street?
seems like it might not last when used like that?

or are the number ratings very conservative?

that one by Rand looks quite nice, and it looks like it will lift the car pretty high up too,

open to more suggestions, its my B-Day on friday and need to find things for people to spend money on

looks like a solid unit, but awefully cumbersome to be bringing to the track

I need a really low one for some reason - not sure why... Really should be under 3" to start with and them are pretty rare it seems...

    whoa!

Everyone will want the one that Matt R recommends. I bought one.

Excellent quality, super price and a real low profile with beaut rubber pads and TWO pumps for fast response.

I only wish I could tell you where to get one! I'm pretty sure it was from summit.

    OK. looked it up.

Summit SUM-G1020. Check their Ebay site for deals on this.
