    "Bump" while stopped

The other day, I kept feeling like I was being bumped by the car behind me, but they weren't even close. On one occasion, nobody was behind me. I did not think about it until I was reading it on another forum.

    Possible suggestions are:
    1) AC compressor kicking on and off - The AC was off, and I know this feeling which seems to come from the front of the car.
    2) HAL adjusting for increased buildup and omissions at idle - Could this be it?
    3) ECM problem that was corrected by a TSB. I just had my car in at the dealer about two months ago. He told me that they loaded all the latest changes. Is there a separate TSB for this?

Anyone else have this problem with other LX models?

this is another mysterious problem these cars have. A friend told me he was considering getting a charger, asked what I thought ,I could not reccommend him to purchase one with this problem in mind.

I had that surging problem with the super-chips installed, never when on stock tune...

feels like the car wants to lurch forward...

my Impala did the same thing with a tuner installed... kind of like the auto transmission just kicks in all of a sudden then realizes that you have your foot on the brake..

My car does it from time to time as well with the Superchips tune. However I also noticed it happens with the stock tune, it's just that the "bump" is not as bad.

My guess is that it's the engine bumping up RPM for the alternator to run the cooling fans. Just make sure you keep your foot on the brake.

The car just wants to GO! Why do you torture her in such a way?

Seriously though. I've gotten that with a bone stock tune. It freaked me out the first couple of times it happened. After that, well...I'm used to it now.

Mine happens when stopping, I have to check to make sure that I'm not hitting both the gas and the brake. Feels like its trying to break-torque.

I get that as well on occasion, feels like you're being tapped by the car behind you lightly. I've talked to several people at my job that have LX cars and the same thing happens to most of them. I'm under the impression at this point that it's just normal. The car doesn't actually lurch forward at all so I'm not paying it any mind any longer.
