Cool Brake rotors on my R/T suck! Need advice.

Well once again (3rd time) I need new rotors. I had the last ones turned and now they are warped again. (2nd pair of OEM Dodge rotors installed and/or turned by the dealer.) No way I am going to get OEM ones again.
I was on www.hhpracing.com and found 3 options:
Two different brand/kinds of rotors that will fit my stock set up.
Some kind of expensive up grade options.

I do not drive hard and do not race. I do not thing I need to do a swap of the entire system or do all the BS to get SRT brakes on the vehicle. I just want to get some new pads and some slotted rotors off hhpracing and call it a day. http://estore.websitepros.com/802805/Detail.bok?no=982

My question is: Will the aftermarket rotors and pads on hhpracing.com be any better or last longer?

I can't speak to the Powerslot rotor performance, but for another option, the performance of my R1 Concepts premium rotors has been very good so far (25,000 km/15,000 mi) and MUCH better than the stock ones. I think they were a bit less $$ than what those Powerslots are listed at, too. A full set of 4 plus Posiquiet pads were ~$500 in total including shipping to Canada.

...And yeah, I beat that yellow 'vette by a tenth - LOL!

I just figure if I pay more they will be better. Where is the r1 info? Anyone have a web site for me to look at. (Supporting vendors preferred.)

I'm done with my R1's. Great at first but eventually turned to junk. Mine lasted about 10,000 miles before they started warping.I have 35000 on them now I can keep re bedding them but the problem comes back. My next course of attack are the stoptechs slotted with Hawk HPS ferro-carbon pads.

    Napa

I just put on some napa ultra premium brakes/rotors and man what a difference. The on of the rear brakes was frozen, and one of the front brake caliper pistons was frozen as well. It's like night and day now and was a lot cheaper then 500 bucks. I did the work myself which also saves some money.

Are you sure you dont need to "bed" them? Seems to be pretty common that when people thing the rotors are warped, they only need to be bedded. Might be something to check out...

I have abused my stock RT brakes and rotors quite a bit. I have "bedded" them a couple times when they started to pulse a little. After that they ran great. (Also running hard on the track does something somewhat similar with the heating and cooling or the brakes / rotors).

Follow the bedding procedure on your current setup:

    http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

If you have never done it you might need to do it again after a couple hundred miles.

Things that might be bad for your brakes:

    1. Getting them really hot and then stopping and sitting there with your foot on the brake
    2. Driving with your foot on the brake
    3. Driving in mountain areas and riding the brakes until they overheat (#2 and then doing #1)

Try bedding- it is free since you are already going to replace them.

You don't mention how many miles you have on your ride....I have about 50K on mine and still have the original brake pads and rotors. I may upgrade to Wilwood to improve my ability to run more laps and abuse the brakes more- much more.

The stock brakes do well for a few hard stops, run pretty good on a small track for several laps but you would not want to run them at the limit for 20+ minutes.

(putting on asbestos suit for defending stock brakes)

I have covered this before. While there is nothing wrong with fitting your car with replacement rotors, that alone won't change a thing. You won't make better braking with a brand change. The part remains the same spec or it won't fit.

99% of the issues reported on stock rotors and pads comes from a poor pad compound for the application and poor driving habits. As mentioned above; one brand was good at the start and then "turned to junk" in X miles. No they didn't, you just brought back the same problem you had before is all. A new set of pizza pans probably would have been as good at the start. But...take it through repeated heat cycles and push pads beyond their intended operational range and you're done. Add to that poor braking habits and an automatic transmission and the car will forever remain challenged.

Pick some pads that are more stable at upper temps and get your foot off the pedal after a hard stop. Learn to creep your car at a light or in traffic if they were hot. Put it in N when you can.

For any naysayers, look at the Titan forums about how bad the truck brakes are...I have now over 70k on my original parts.

Thanks. I was told to get wilwood or hawk hps. I was told on here or chargerforums that they are going to work the best for me.
Thanks for the tips. Every day I brake hard from 70 mph (exit ramp) and then sit at a long light never taking my foot off the pedal. It sounds like that did not help anything.
