Brake Bleeding Question after Air may have gotten in the system?

So, new Rotors and Pads (R1 Slotted and Hawk HPS) went on this weekend, also took the calipers off, cleaned and painted.
Did it with my buddy at his place. As the calipers came off, he tied a rubber glove to each to catch fluid (to avoid a mess). Realized he didn't have any fluid at his place to put back in the master cylinder. Oops.

Long story short, car sat like that for about 5hrs with the calipers off and drying until we got back to finish it.
Refilled the master cylinder, bled the brakes.
    Felt 'mushy'
Bled them again, no air bubbles.
Still the pedal travels almost halfway before any significant braking occurs and feels 'mushy'. If I 'pump' the pedal before having to stop, it feels more normal, but still a teeny bit 'mushy'.
SO, without a trip to the dealer will the suggestion below I found in another thread work?

ABS black box up front. Two ways to do that.
    2. Do your bleed, then drive the car some, using the brakes... liberally. Come back and bleed out the fronts again."

Basically, do I have to get the ABS to kick on after we bleed or something, and do we bleed like this?
    RR, LR, RF, LF

Basically, I am assuming some air got in the Master Cylinder, or ABS stuff or somewhere that our simple bleeding procedure missed. And I need a way to get rid of it without a dealership trip.
    Any suggestions?

I have this info posted in the thread where I found some of the stuff I mentioned here, but figured I would start a clean thread since that one was really about Power Flushing and may not apply to what I am trying to do.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Stopping is important.

I hope you didnt use the brake fluid from the rubber gloves, because if you did,you contaminated your system.Your doing right procedure, that why Im thinking you might have more problems.

    Fresh fluid was used.
We picked up new fluid while we were out during the 5hr gap. I just neglected to mention that in the post, sorry.

Heading back out there to re-bleed again, and maybe bench bleed the Master Cylinder if necessary.

Everything worked fine before except for some brake fade and warped rotors, no leaks before or after. Just gotta be some air in there somewhere still.
It was late, and unfortunately we were in a bit of a rush towards the end.

Gonna try and do it right tonight, unsafe in an emergency right now, it stops, but takes an extra bit of time, I don't like that.

Would air in the ABS stuff affect normal brake pedal feel, or only when ABS is active?

Now sounds like a good time to flush the brake system. I would bleed about 4 ounces on each corner.

You might want to bleed your master first, then bleed the system.

I would gravity bleed the system first .then pressure bleed. A starscan is needed to bleed the abs hydrualic pump.i doubt u should have to go that far.u can bleed the master cylinder on the car.i would gravity bleed first.

Used a mini-hand-vac pump thing, and pumping the pedal, bled it all again with my buddy, pulled probably 4-6 ounces of fluid through each wheel. So at this point, I have all new fluid I bet, lol.

Brakes like it should now. Went and tested the ABS and that worked fine as well. Starts braking when I barely push the pedal, where before this, pedal would travel halfway before it would slow down really at all.

Dunno, must have been air trapped in a caliper or the Master Cylinder or something somewhere, but it's fixed now and I am happy.
