bolt pattern on rims.. is it 5X114.3 or 5X115

I have seen many different posts on this subject..
Some say 5X114.3 cause it to be off balanced, others say the wheel will fall off with 5X114.3 but I can not find any 5X115 rims I like...

Will the 5X114.3 work on the Magnum's or are there problems./?????
    thanks

"others say the wheel will fall off"

WTF! Even if the specs are off how in the world will a wheel fall off?

I believe it is officially 5x115. Tirerack.com only list 115 and Tires.com removed all their 114.3 wheels and only SHOW 1 in 115.

If you are desparate for rims and the selection is few get some custom cast or forged rims made. It may take a while before a good selection of rims is available. With the 5x115 and the low offset I believe most wheel companies have to retool and recast.

Don't fogert www.vaultwheels.com currently you will need to ORDER blank rims and have them drilled your self but within the next month they will have several of there current styles in a 22x9 made hubcentric to the magnum and 300 models.

I'm not sure on the luc patern. My set of kaizer rims were 5 on 114.3
My vault wheels were machined by wheel specialist in tempe, az to 5x115

To be perfectly honest the 114.3 felt right. My tires are in balance and yet I have a wobble, with the 5x114.3 patern it never wobbled. And neither rim was hub centric.

I think I am going to use 5x114.3 regaurdless FROM now on in my opinion that feels right.

Wow that's great I could only imagine what the NHTSA would say about that, not to mention the DOT...

What does NHTSA or DOT have to do with it? Looks like someone has no idea how rims are made. That is a comman practice in custom wheels.

The wheels get certified by the manufacturer, custom drilled wheels would not have the same testing and certification, which could pose a safety risk, nothing a professional shop would have to worry about if that's their business I suppose... It would make me paranoid driving on them though, who's to say that the angle to the lugs is correct and won't cause them to loosen... Heck I had an old set of rims FROM an IROC Camaro on a S-10 truck and the lugs kept loosening because they were the wrong type.

When gumby wrote "you will need to ORDER blank rims and have them drilled your self" I doubt he was talking about someome buying them and drilling them as a weekend project at home. However, if the guy was a machinist with a machine shop then no problem. :D

Hey, you had a lug problem on an IROC and now you assume everyone would have the same problem or worse with some custom drilled rims? That was your mistake. We live and learn. I don't believe there is such a thing as a DOT or NHTSA approved rims.
