    back up senser reprogram?

Stopped at a red light 2 weeks ago some joker taps my rear bumper and sure enough does paint damage. He said he has a great body shop and will pay to fix it. Ok they do a great job and I'm happy again. Two days later I realize that my back up sensers aren't working. Just the 4 red lights light up whenever it's in reverse and the evac says service the park assist system. Now I know they disconnected the battery when painting because my radio presets and seat memory were gone. The paint shop said it just needs to be reset but he didn't know how to do it. Just called the dealer and he wants the car for the day which is a pain. Does anybody know if I can reset this somehow myself?? I know the power windows and other things can be reset when fuses are pulled, was hoping this could be as well.

the dealer has to recalibrate the system and chances are he tapped one of the sensors which is now malfunctioning. if it is a bad sensor, they are only $45.. not a big deal. and they are easy to install.

since I just got my car back from having my a$$ end torn off by a Semi, I went thru this.

and let me advise you, if the sensor has come unpluged or any wires are exposed and it touches metal, it will short out your Nav unit (at least it did mine).

    Marc--

there is no reprogramming procedure. if one or more sensor was hit, it will most likely need replacing (and paint to match). they are not very shock resistant. a starscan will read DTCs from the parktronics module.
Izzy pics money talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"

hmmm... I believe you Fnkychkn, my dealer told me they "calibrated" the module because they had to replace all the sensors seeing as how my bumper cover was torn off..

I guess by calibrating they me, they installed new sensors... how funny
