    Awsome Car!

I don't know if I’ve said it lately but this car is (expletive) AWSOME!

I was just out in the Garage doing the code thing I found from this great site and the Stereo was on. I just sat there a few min's listing to it cranked up.

This past weekend at a show I was talking to a Rat Rodder about his car. It was a 49 Mercury chopped and channeled. I mentioned how my 300C had that same chopped look that’s when he perked up and was like gushing about the new 300 and Maggies and Chargers. He was excited about our car as much as I was about his. I mean who doesn’t like a 49 Merc there one of the best hot rods ever. To hear him say how much he liked my car was really cool.

Ever since I got my Magnum RT a couple months ago, I've been parking it in a spot that I can see directly from the window of my second-floor cubicle. I'm also directly above the main entrance, so I have a good view of everyone as they come and go.

*At least* 2 or 3 times a week, I see one of our equipment vendors, a customer, a delivery person, or even someone just walking/jogging past stop to get a really good look at my car.

Sometimes they'll even do a full walk-around, and all the while they completely ignore a near-mint '96 Firebird, a decked-out Harley-Davidson, and even my boss's brand-new Escalade, all parked just a couple spaces away in either direction.

Just this morning a guy in his early 20s (one of the boss's kids, I think) pulled into the lot in a "brand new" Camaro with temporary plates, and on the entire trip from his car to the front doors and back again, he never took his eyes off my Magnum for more than a second. There was a definite look of regret on his face, as if he was seriously reconsidering his choice of vehicle...

    I love this car.

When people ask me how I like my car I say 'there is only one way to describe this car and that's WOW!'

I've seen those looks of envy you are talking about..hehehehehe

This car definitely gets more than it's share of attention. I see people looking and pointing all the time. As long as they don't touch, looking is okay!!!

I picked up my uncle from a Mustang restoration shop where he was dropping off his '68 fastback for a new crate motor. The techs both came out to admire the Mag. One guy said, "Man, I've seen you driving around town a few times, NICE CAR!" These guys are in the middle of building a Shelby GT500 clone, and they're all worked up about the little customizations on my Magnum. Cool!

The other night on the way home from work, some little boys were playing beside the street ahead of me. As I approached I saw one on a bike spot me, say something to the other two and point at my Magnum. They all stopped and watched it go by. It was funny especially if you have seen the Charger ad. I know how they feel. This morning a brilliant black Magnum went by as I was pulling out of the driveway. We casually know of the people that own it. The husband works where my husband works, their name is pronounced the same as ours. They also have an RT, although it is a 2005. I followed her down two county roads and onto I-5 for about 15 miles. I think people thought we were together because I saw a couple of double takes. These are startlingly beautiful cars. I rarely get to see one enough to admire because I am usually inside. One of these days I must get to a meet & greet. And what's up with wanting to drive like a hormonal teenage boy when you get behind the wheel of these? I could not help myself. I worked 10 hours today and gassed up on the way home. I got on a quiet road and when I made the right-hand turn onto another road I just had to step down on it in 2nd and chirp the tires a little. Ahh like therapy. Tension lessened. Looks, performance, comfort, what a package!
psst did I mention I love this car?

My $.02. Me and a friend went to the Pate Museum south of Fort Worth. Had gone past many times but never stopped until someone told me it was well worth the trip as old man Pate had a collection of very rare cars in mint condition indoors. Who knew? There's a real eclectic bunch of stuff outside. So we go over there in my Mag and I park it out front. We go inside and check out all the really nice cars in there including a DeSoto FireFlight with the original 330CI HEMI. We're the only 2 people left in there when we are ready to go. We come outside and there's 6 people standing around the Mag and trying to peek in the windows!!! My buddy justs shakes his head (he knows what's coming) and I bust out laughing. Needless to say, many questions were asked (the ever popular "What the hell is it?" always starts the ball rolling), the doors and hatch were opened and the requisite "displaying of the HEMI sans cover" were all performed with what is now practiced ease. WOT heading back out onto Rte 377 from the parking lot was the capper. It really does make me think these things are destined to be a collectible classic. The Mag was in some pretty rarified company Tuesday and he was still his usual show-stopper self.

The museum doesn't have it's own web site but here's a review that was done of it with a couple of pix and a list of some the cars and stuff on display.

Cadzilla74, I noticed that Pate Museum on my way to Cresson last weekend. I have to go back and check it out. Didn't realize it was a car museum. Thanks!
