    Question Attention Mopar Techs.....auto headlamps...

Been doing some research, digging through the service manual.

I have come up with a theory. As it is now if your vehicle is equipped with the manual temp control you don’t/can’t have auto headlamps. But, if you turn your switch to the ‘Auto’ position they will turn on and off. When I looked into the sensor wiring I found that the sun sensor connects to the Auto temp control via 4 wires, and the ATC sends a signal over CAN B to control the Headlamps.

So my theory is, since the MTC does NOT in any way connect to the CAN B, could you gut the control board out of an ATC, wire it to CAN B, and wire the sensor to the ATC (just hide the board in the dash)? Would the car allow it to operate once you activate it via Starscan(just like adding Sirius sat tuner)?

i have some thoughts. good luck with that!

by installing the circuit board from an ATC unit and hooking it up to CAN-B bus, you're essentially adding an ECU to the vehicle. don't think the FCM will like that. probably set DTCs in several modules and may adversely affect other vehicle systems.
Izzy pics money talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"
