    A-arm suspension bolt w/nut

Is there anybody here that can tell me the size of the nut thats the one that gets shaved down when you put 24's on your car.. Im looking for some smaller nut's that I can put in place of the one that I have on there right now. Currently the one on there is shaved down quite a bit. My tire size is 255/30/24, I purchased some new tires about a month ago, and when my wife got a chance to put them on... they were to close to that bolt.. Like 1mm in between the tire and shaved nut. Is there anyway I can fix this problem. Are there some smller nuts out there strong enough for the arm that I can use? I would appreciate it if somebody could give me some insight on what I could do.. Thanks...

The upper balljoint threads are usually all that need to be ground down to fit 24`s. Grind all the exposed threads down til they even out with the nut. Honestly you dont want to be cutting into the nut, there is alot of force on this nut as it holds the balljoint into the knuckle. Can you take a picture so we have an idea now how much threads are exposed on the balljoint as of now?

Sorry man.. I can't take a picture cause currently Im in Iraq. I leave here in about 10 days to go home on a vacation, and I'll be glad to take a picture to send to you. I've grinded some threads down alittle already, also put a smaller nut on there. just alittle smaller than the original nut. Im wondering if there is any smaller nuts I can put on there to be able to handle that pressure. I heard of some top lock nuts or nylock nuts. Have you heard of those? Do you know the size of the nut I would need to fit on those threads? Thanks for replying..

As long as your not rubbing, your fine. The relationship between the control arm and the tire never changes. You don't want to weaken that area.
