    Anyone tried a Tornado

Anyone tried these and know if they actually work or if it is just a bunch of "hogwash"

I remember seeing an info-mercial on them a couple years ago....ran across this one for a magnum on the net today....just thought I'd check if it is worth it till I can afford an Airraid ....

    Thanks

    That's good to know.

We'll see how it works on the Magnums.
It looks like 2012 will be very good indeed.
Unless the Mayans are right, then, well, never mind.

I remember reading an article in Popular Mechanics where they tested all these type of fuel saver and performance mods. They found that they actually hurt milage and performance.

Please don't wast your money. Tried one on a dyno to prove they don't work. Wishful thinking. If they worked, DCX would be there biggest customer! It would raise there CAFE ratings and save them billions.

I have one in my Magnum, and I put in the Airraid CAI at the same time. From what I can tell- one of them has made my fuel econemy go down. I only had the car a few weeks when I did this, but the 1st tank I monitored before the change I got 25mpg and now I get 22mpg the driving habits are reletively the same. I think I'll take out the tornado and try just the CAI.

Things that can be measured are not "opinions". And since nobody else on the planet who has ever tested this junk has found them to work, I would suspect your "test".

Please, for the love of MOPAR, try out the seach function!

2.7L mpg increase with K&N drop in or Tornado?

67alecto - I may be new to these forums, but not to forums in general. I would not have posted the question if I hadn't first done a search and gotten back a "Sorry - no matches" message. I must have mistyped tornado, because I search it now and get back 45 hits.

I DO appreciate you saying that I am "lame" as your added picture states, for asking a question. Forgive me for intuding my question and wasting your time.

Moderator, please lock this thread since this topic has been discussed before. No sense in a flame was erupting any more than it has. Thank you.

I had one in my 2001 Vette. Before installing it I got a consistent 26-28mpg. After install I seldom got less than 32mpg. I did these figures over the corse of 1 year. I would visit my now live in girlfriend once or twice a week and the drive was 400 miles one way.

It doesn't work on our vehicles (5.7 Hemi). I bought one and tried it for 30 days with NO improvement in MPG or HP whatsoever. Luckily I was able to return it to the local Pep Boys for a refund.

Do not waste your money. I have one I'll give you. Send me a PM if you want it.

edit: Sorry, I forgot I already gave it to ratman1648. Not surprisingly, he is only seeing maybe 1mpg improvement, which is almost certainly attributable to the placebo effect.
