    Anyone see the Challenger comparisons?

This months Road and Track has a road trip comparison between the Challenger RT, Camaro SS, and Mustang GT. Not the first one I've seen-Motortrend did one as well a couple months ago. What pisses me off with these is they always compare the RT to the top of the line SS (6.2 engine, brembos, etc)!! Why not the SRT? Mustang also gets shafted with the GT having a 289 V8-why not the GT500 or whatever 5 or 6 liter mustang has to offer.
It just pisses me off that they talk about Challenger being slower, worse brakes, not as good handling, etc. I mean come on-it's a 5.7 vs 6.2!! Stock brakes vs. Brembos.

    See for yourself: http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=8313

    http://www.motortrend.com/multimedia...per/index.html

This one is even worse as they compare the Shelby Cobra, Hennessey Camaro to regular off the lot SRT- why not the Hurst Challenger for god sakes?!!!

Can someone set-up a fairer comparison?

Probably not. Then their #1 advertiser wouldn't win...

Yeah I have that Magazine at home...I wonder the same thing...But I think it always comes down to price...The Srt8 is a way higher price point and so is the 500. If you think this is bad....Wait till the z28 is released and its around the same price as the srt8...Camaro is jusr giving more for the money....what can you do about it....

Honestly price does come into factor for most people now a days and in that regard they did a fair comparison. But when your comparing a GT500 to a SRT and a hennesy Camaro come on, now they are just being a**holes.

Well the reasoning behind the first article was to compare all 3 cars based on price range rather than model type. Wehn everyone bitched about it they went ahead and used the 3 top of the line models. If corse there is no Z28 yet but supposedly it will be the same as the Hennessy Camaro. Unfortunately the Challenger doesn't have a big souped up model according to them.

Its based on price when most buyers walk into a dealership they know how much they want to spend, and they base there purchases in that range. If anything we should be yelling at dodge to up there performance to meet the competitions offerings or to bring their prices down to what your getting for your money.

Value for the money can be one of the comparison items, but they are comparing performance between the various models. Hennessey also makes a Challenger version that runs in the 11's, Hurst makes a Challenger version, etc. I mean, how can you say that this Hennessey is representing the Z-28 had it actually materialized!! You can put that Hurst one and say it represents the Cuda version that has been talked about but only Mr. Norm is building. I just think it's pretty ridiculous to say we chose these on price and then compare performance. I would, and I think everyone would like to see the actual comparable models side by side and let price be one of your factors as to what is best, along with specs.

I don't need some want to be auto weenie to tell me which car is better. I've driven all three and hands down the Challenger is the best. The Mustang is a close 2nd but the looks of the Camaro kills it for me oh and the shift denied warning I got on my way to Aspen on Independence pass.

I wouldn't use any of the US auto magazines to collect my dogs droppings they are all whores to their advertisers.
