Anyone here taken off their headliner?

I'm FINALLY got my 100^2 feet of FatMat and I'm going to start applying it to any and all body panels I can. I am not installing my sub yet (since I haven't bought it yet) but I'm thinking that a 10w7 aimed directly at the roof of the car might be cause for some excessive vibration noise. I probably won't be able to hear the vibration noise over the sub, but it may help the audio sound better overall if do it. So, has anyone here removed the head liner? Any pointers? I'm probably going to regret it, but not if I succeed!

The paintless dent guy had mine down last week while he fixed some light hail damage that I had. I couldn't look while the headliner was down. I thought I might cry...LOL
