About LinkBacksNowadays numbers matching cars command the highest prices so I was wondering if anyone here is worried about modding for that fact? I would love a 392 or 426 stroker but I dont think I want to give up my original block and possibly detract from the value of my Sublime if it becomes a collectors item in 20+ years.
Anyone else worried about this?

Question is do you really see yourself with that car in 20 years and most importantly does it matter? If maximizing the collectiblity is what really important you should stop driving it right now, put it up on blocks in an environmentally controlled garage, but what fun would that be.
As long as your mods are tasteful you'll retain plenty of value.

As far as I recall, there's been some talk about decoding the stamping on our motors' blocks, and so far there's nothing tying a particular block to a VIN.
I could be mistaken, but I know it's come up and last I heard there was no link.

The charger is my second car so the miles stay pretty low. Also I am going to mod it but I was thinking of keeping the stock block when going stroker just in case.
Can anyone verify that the numbers dont mean squat?

I've also heard that there's no stamping on the block to correlate to the chassis VIN...
