    LX Antenna Change

Guys: I purchased a 2008 Magnum "plain vanilla" with a 2.7liter V-6 and stock Mopar Radio/CD system. I purchased a Mopar Sirius Radio/CD System from EBay. I want to know how to change the antenna on the roof. Do I have to pull the headliner out? Are these cars prewired for all types of antennas, and you just have to change the outside antenna, or do I have to run a satellite antenna wire to make it work?

If you have an antenna on the roof (small pod looking thing) then that is the sat. radio antenna. The AM-Fm antenna is in the rear glass.

Was it a radio you bought??? Because for 2008 LXes you have to buy a radio to put satellite in, there is no longer a seperate module like the 2005-2007 models. The satellite module is part of the radio. You can tell by looking at the faceplate of the radio. If it says Sirius, then it has satellite radio. 08's don't have the grid on the backlight for an AM/FM antenna. I can't find a # for the new install kit. Check with your local dealer. Sirius radio antenna is shared with AM/FM antenna on top. Sirius TV has a seperate antenna similar to the old Sirius antenna.

It is a Dodge Factory radio with Satellite function button. I will check on the back plate for what antenna goes.

I looked on the back. There are two antenna plug in's. Is the Sirius radio module in the factory system itself, or do I have to purchase the module? And can I use the standard "stalk" antenna on the car now. It is a 2008 model EX.
