Exclamation With all this talk about Chrysler being sold...

I came up with an idea!

Members on this board have helped out fellow members by donating money to a cause, why not get something going for Chrysler?!

    Then WE can own them?

(Hey its Monday morning and I've got a headache!)

I doubt there are enough chrysler product owners, old or new alike that could (or would) contribute enough to make a difference.

Chrysler group posted a 1.5 billion dollar loss in 2006, so for it to make a difference a group would have to come up with that much, plus some kind of amount that would represent a significant profit, as well. Lets say 500 million, so that would make it an even 2 billion.

I don't know how many current and old chrysler owners there are, but lets just say that everyone who is a member of this board (11,000 or so?) tried to shoulder that amount. That would be about $182,000 that each of us would need to contribute. Whos got their checkbook out?

Of course, then we'd need to make sure that 2007 went well also, so we'd all need to make sure and buy a new Chrysler or Dodge vehicle this year as well.

I'm being facetious, of course, but a fundraising effort by fans of chrysler/dodge would certainly let them know that we don't like the idea, but the bottom line is money, and thats what they care about, not whether or not we like the idea of buying a GM 300 or Magnum (and I don't).

I personally hope it doesn't happen and that all these talks turn out to be nothing, but I don't know that Chrysler is going to be able to turn it around if Daimler drops them. It don't look good all around.

Would be cool, but I would not like having my car stall on the highway and the only way to get it to start again is to hold the brake pedel down and opening the glove box while pulling fuse 11.

Not to mention you would be inticed to upgrade your operating system every 2 years!!

I feel my Mopar Blue blood running cold. I'd rather it be purchased by Hyundai than GM.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

If I had billions of dollars, I would buy it and put it back to the "good old days" of the 50's,60's,70's and 80's. When "The Chrysler Corporation" and the "Pentastar" ment something.

Ya maybe Bill Gates and Steve Jobs should buy it together and create the best of both worlds
