    Ahh, Spring Time in California

The joy of crusin up the coast for a great weekend in Santa Cruz and then flyin low, down Interstate 5 through farm country to get home. Even little butterflies can hurt at 90+ mph when they hit you in the hand. I hit so many bugs I had butterfly wings stuck to the rear window of my RT (I really need to work on a wing mod).
I guess I better get out an wash my car to get all the bugs off the grill.

I hit one a few weeks back during their migration, a nice juicy yellow streak from the wiper arm half way up the windshield. Very colorful

What kind of grill is that?? I really like it...I like the two other pieces below the grill too. Very nice.

CarManZee: Get a bra- it will help alot. I had the same problem. You don't want bug guts sitting on your paint for very long.

I went to school in Santa Cruz for a couple of years; it's a great part of the state up there. Highway 17 has some great twisties.

Which highways did you use to traverse to US 101 and I-5?

    Thanks for the tip tho.
Don't leave it on all the time.....just when you drive to school or back home. Sure beats picking bugs off the front of your car - also protects from rock chips.

Your paint is going to end up sooooooooo ugly.....not near as bad as putting a bra on the front of your car every now and then.

The acid in their guts will etch your painted surfaces and make it impossible to remove if, you leave them on too long.

Thank god we don't have the love bugs here in California like in Florida. I grew up there and remember what a drag it was twice a year to scrap them off the car. I actually joined the Air Force to get out of Florida.

The grill is a T-Rex unit and I also have a clear bra installed that has saved the paint several times from rocks and other things nasty. It also covers the headlights and driving lights, the bra isn't cheap but it is worth every penny.

On the way home we went across 198, really pretty country and some fun twisty roads with no traffic. Lots of 2nd and 3rd gear thrashing through the hills.
