Actual highway temps with alt. Thermostats.

I am currently running a 180 degree thermostat (murray brand - cross referenced stant from O'Riley Auto Parts) in my Daytona. The thermostat starts to open at 177 degrees and on a cool day will hold 177-181 degrees.

Now that summer is here, I was wondering what temps your replacement thermostats are holding at highway speeds in 90+ degree heat with the AC on.

Mine varies between 186 and 190. Was just wondering if that is normal or where other thermostats hold your cars temperatures in these conditions.

Sounds about right. With clean airflow at 95-99 degree ambient/75 mph I'm seeing 185-190 degrees. At the same speed/temp with dirty air (behind another vehicle) it goes over 190 but stays below 200.

with the 180 I was seeing 183-190 in 104* temps on the run to the shindig and we were running 4+ hours a shot between stops.
