    AAI-CHY installation trouble

Has anyone successfully installed the AAI-CHY on the REF stereo ('05 style - no front aux input)? When I power on my stereo, and press mode, it will not go to the Sat mode. If I reconnect the sirius reciever, it goes to SAT mode, but never recognizes the AAI-CHY. I have verified the correct connections, including use of the white, brown, gray branch of the t-harness, and the power LED of the AAI-CHY is on. I have tried disconnecting the stereo for several minutes then reconnecting it, and I left the stereo on for at least 10 minutes with the sirius reciever disconnected (in FM mode), and with the sirius reciever connected (SAT mode). Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Shot in the dark, but always try a battery reconnect on these cars. Might help!

That did the trick. Guess if I hadn't been working on this at midnight I would have remembered to disconnect the battery at the beginning of the project.

    Thanks!

    Got my shovel!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have been considering getting this for my 2006 REF radio to be able to connect my satellite receiver and an MP3 player. Before I just go out and buy it, I have what will hopefully be a simple quesiton.

    The instructions state something about:
The radio will need to be updated with information prior to use. This is one time process and will not need to be done again unless the radio is disconnected or vehicle battery is replaced/disconnected.
Who needs to do this information update, and how is it done?
