    85mm Turbo Wasnt Enough...

Well I thought that an 85mm turbo would work very well on a decent sized motor like a 392. After thinking about it, Im gonna send it back and just get one of these and toss a small shot (150 maybe) on the motor. Here is the new one compared to the T3/T4 I had. I carefully measured everything and I should just have enough room to put it under the car and still keep my "mid mount" system. Im hoping that I can still use the piping thats already under my ride. Let me know what you think. BTW, its 122mm in case you want to run a similar system

that turbo is to big for what your wanting to do. and isnt ness. an 85mm turbo can support over 1300rwhp. the turbo you have pictured is more than they allow in the SSO cars that run 6's in the quarter mile...to say that turbo is overkill for what you are trying to do is an understatement, ontop of that, you would pretty much be wasting it with running 2 1/2 inch pipe. you would need to run a air/water intercooler also for it.

in short, it would be a big waste of money.

I think we are on to something. Why couldn't you mount one under the car and one in the trunk? 2600 hp, that's what I'm talking about. Would we need a transmission MOD?

I don't believe the big turbo goes on cars, even 1/4 mile cars. I believe that's a big diesel turbo for super large applications.

i have a holset HY35 off an older cummins. its about an 90mm scroll. some of the turbo dodge guys (2.2/2.5/2.0/2.4) are using them. it is a more than a touch big for them, but thats right at the manifold. dont go messing around with scroll sizes unless you have the math down.

Just thought I would post that. It was at SEMA and I was hoping some of you who went took some pics of it. I cant wait to see a 4000hp car running with that thing (or Jay's Prostreet Mag). I dont even think it would be possible to put it anywhere on an LX, but I sure would love to see it!

Probly less than a full 19 gallon "meth" cell..?

My 85mm one weighs 50lb, so Id say close to 100lb. It sure looks cool though.

OK, please dont even go there. I think that topic is done and over with!

And as far as the weight comment, if the smaller one is 50 lbs, Im thinking the bigger one is more like 150 lbs.... just look at the size difference!
