    Bump for same problem-
I have an 05 Magnum RT, same problem, between around 70 and 80 steering wheel vibrates/shakes bad. I am pretty sure my rotors are warped a bit, as braking causes a shake as well, but the problem Sticknanko describes, happens to me also with NO braking.
I also had my wheels balanced as I thought that was the issue (actually had them balanced twice, but thats another story)

Nope your wheels are not balanced properly. Take them back. It don't take much to get a slight shimmy. I just replaced my 20's and i'm getting it also. My car is going back for tire balance again.

Rotate the tires and see if the problem goes away.

I had mine Balanced a 2nd time at a different Discount Tire after the first time didn't fix it.
Still have the vibration/shake right at the same speeds.
Any other ideas? I can try and have the tires rotated again, but then I won't be getting even tire wear.. (for some odd reason my back tires wear out quicker than the fronts on RWD cars)

My car is rear wheel, and the back wears out very quick due to my heavy take off foot...My car starts to shake at 60 to 80mph when my rear tires are wearing out (from spinning)...ususally when this happens its time to order new rear tires...

I have read lots of posts about our cars being hard to balance, Ive never had trouble yet but others have...I never gave it much thought but all the tire spinning i do I figure the tire wears uneven or I sling wieghts but like I said earlier...mine starts to vibrate after tires are wore out from spinning...Rick

Hmmm, mine was just rotated and balanced though. And all tires deffinitly have a decent amount of tread left, just two have less than the other two.

It's driving me nuts though, makes the car ride like a POS at highway speeds when the steering wheel shakes.

Other than rims and tires, is there anything else that could do this? Could warped rotors be warped enough to cause something like this at certain speeds?

Shake at 70ish has been a problem I have seen many threads about. It requires a top-notch shop to root out the problem. It could be many, many different things that could cause it. I have even heard solutions that included: balance, new tires, steering box and linkage, aftermarket wheels with very slightly different bolt pattern, and LOTS of trial and error.

If your brakes squeal, my recommendation is to try a different brake pad. Hawks are good.

I had the same problem with my 300 srt, had the wheels balanced twice and still had the problem. than I had the wheels " road force balanced" and that solved the problem. call some tire shops, and ask if they have the Hunter 9700 road force machine, first they break the bead, and rotate the tire to a different position on the wheel if necessary, than balance it.
as close to perfect as you can get. they charged me $30 per wheel, worth every penny.

Have someone check tie rid ends. There are many threads about premature tie rod wear. Slack in tie rods will cause a shimmy in the stearing.

Your tires need to be road force balanced. Most tire shops use a lower end machine that simulates a road force balance.
They said everything was spot on. Took it out for a spin and a nasty vibration.
Took it to the dealer where they have the high end machine and said the tires were not even close to balanced.
After they got done it was smooth as glass to 140

Hmmm, I may have the dealer check the wheels when it's in for the A/C issue and rear window issue...
Gonna suck if I can't take it to Discount Tire to get stuff balanced anymore. It's convenient.....

    Same issue

I had the same issue up until last friday.... Vibration at 80, scheduled an appointment for that and oil change. The dealer road force balanced the tires and now she is smooth as can be. I think road force is the way to go.

Can anyone explain the difference between a "Road Force" balance, and whatever Discount Tire does?
I am curious at this point.
