    A 6 Speed for the LX's ....Yep!..but not DC

Since DC does not offer a 5 or 6speed in the LX's I thought I would drop Keisler Engineering a email and ask about the possibility of a manual transmission for the 06 Charger and I got this response .

Do you have any offerings for the new 06 Charger owners that might want
a 5 speed ? I know DC did not offer one but think there might be market
    for one .

    Thanks

WE ARE CURRENTLY BEGINNING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ON A
6-SPEED SYSTEM FOR THESE CARS, HOWEVER IT WILL BE A LONG ROAD DUE TO THE ODD DIMENTIONS OF THE NEW CAR AND GETTING AROUND ALL OF THE ONBOARD COMPUTERS. I WOULD NOT EXPECT TO SEE THIS PRODUCT FOR AT LEAST 9 MONTHS TO A YEAR, BUT IT IS COMING. THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP! RESPECTFULLY,
    GRAY G. FREDRICK, KEISLER ENGINEERING.

Here is there web address : http://www.keislerauto.com/

    Email: info@keislerauto.com

The great part is they are not to far from me.
I am really looking forward to this .

I would guess on the upcoming Challeger, it would be necessary to put one in for competitive purposes. It's a couple of years away, but it will be factory.

    6 Speed

I was at the All Chrysler Nats eariler this month. I got the same response, they said they would debut the new 6 speed at the sema show, and that they are getting flooded with emails about it.

Tremic already make a 6 speed that will bolt to this hemi.
It is made for the retro fitting the new hemi in old cars.
If you don't mind not having abs or the stability control you could make on fit. It wouldn't be pretty unless you are a good body work person.

I'd sell my Mag and get one with a 6 if they offered it, especially if we are talking a few years from now!

A manual transmission option would be great, but we have to give it some realistic thought; manual transmissions don't sell, especially in family car segments, which like it or not, the LX's are in.

However I do believe that not offering a manual transmission in the SRT line was pretty stupid.

You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture, just get people to stop reading them.

True you are right, but I still believe that they would have sold some, I would have loved to have a manual transmission, infact I think I would have bought it on the spot instead of waiting a day

I never thought of myself as a redneck, but my last 3 cars had manual trannys and I sure wish my Mag did. I'd paint my neck red and get some teeth like Hammer's (avatar) to get a manual in my Magnum.
