I have my mind set on FRI street heads/Tomahawk cam combo but I got a good offer at my dealership on them yesterday. And just asking what others got to say on this combo. Not that many people have tried the Mopar heads that I have heard about.

I going ahead and ordering the Tomahawk cam today. Not installing it by itself but just want to be buying parts lil by lil and do a one time install all at once.

The Mopar 392 heads are supposed to be great, but I can't get anyone to confirm or deny that the valves will hit the piston on a stock 6.1L bottom end. Last year when the 392 was released, I heard that they would. Are you referring to those or a CNC's stock 6.1L head?

I talking about the Mopar 393 heads. Thats why I ask because of the risk of valves hitting the pistons on a stock 6.1l bottom end.

From what I have gathered the heads them selves are fine,Its when you use the mopar cam that is an issue with the Valves hitting the pistons.I
could be wrong.Just trying to remember what i read somewhere

The Mopar 392 cam? If so, does anybody know the specs of it? I'd also like to know if I can run the 392 heads with my Tomahawk. I'm starting on stock 6.1 heads (install planned for 10/13), but will upgrade when my wife is done with grad school.

And RidingLow, is your price a friend thing or did you find a good public source?

Yeah, but you have that big 'ole stroker underneath them. I wonder if whoever built your bottom end could tell us if your pistons come up to the same height as the 6.1 stockers.

pretty sure his stroker has some good-sized valve notches in it.

If the Mopar 6.1 heads have bigger valves, I would DEFINALTEY do a clearance check.

IF, the valves are the same size, i don't think there is TOO much to worry about... but again, it normally is better to be safe, as opposed to sorry...

The Intakes valves are 2.1. I know they are bigger than stock. I think stock are 2.08 on an SRT. I have a friend at the dealer who just put 392 heads on a stock SRT bottom end. I will ask what cam he used. He may have done the 392 cam also.
