50 RWP from intake and Exhaust!!!

I read an article from Musclecar Magazine recently on an 05 magnum r/t that was having a bunch of Mopar performance parts added. Their test began with a Mopar intake and exhaust. The exhaust consisted of headers, highflow cats and cat back. They dyno'd and claimed 50 RWP. They said they were surprised. They expected 30. After the cam and pcm the netted a total of 65 rwp.

Anyone else read this article, thoughts? Does this mirror you're results?
    Thanks,

A couple years ago quite a few of us meet at a dyno in central Florida.
    The typical results:
    Stock 5.7L were getting 293 to 295rwhp
Those with long tube headers and high flow cats and catback were getting 305 to 310rwhp.
The math there showed an addition 10 to 18 rwhp gain.

Those numbers aren't near a "sexy" as 50hp, but then again we weren't doing it for a magazine article.

If that was at Macado Autosports, that was a fun time indeed!

If I remember right, my RT was a tick over 300hp/350tq and everyone kept wondering what else I had besides a factory freak.

Something is bogus. 50 is way too much... 30 is much more like it. And so then you're telling me that a cam and computer only got them another 15 horsepower? Was it a stock cam that somebody rolled down the street and then repackaged or what?

Sounds like they baselined on a Mustang dyno, then ran on a Dynojet after mods! My RT baselined at 249 rwhp on a Mustang, with all my mods today it puts down 302.5 on the same Mustang dyno.

I read that too...along with some other article that also praised the Mopar headers/cat back as being one of the best out there for HP gains. I am having that that set-up done as we speak - only with an SLP cat-back. I was hoping for 30hp, but 50 would sure be nice... heck, I would compromise with 40.

    Musclecar mag Lied?

I don't remember what dyno. I thought the same thing, that they only got 15hp from the comp and cam. Sounded strange to me too. They did say they gained .67 sec in the quarter from 14.34 to 13.67 and 8 mph after all was done. The parts I know were all mopar. They also changed the torque converter. I will get the mag info tonite and post so ya'll can order reprint if you like.

Sounds a little high, I would expect about 20-30 at most. Stock, most 5.7s put down around 275-285 RWHP. With intake and full exhaust most people are around 295-305 RWHP.
