use the SEARCH function and use the key-word KILL................quite a few actually.

Fastest 5.7 is in the 12.5's on all motor...............there are 3 cars with stock 5.7 bottom ends running real real close to one another in the 12.5 - 12.6 zone.

With a touch of nitrous all of them would be in the 11's

With those numbers, you can challenge most anything on the street other than the extreme cars...........

once its modified, it goes 60 feet in about 1.7 to 1.8 seconds and does 0 to 60 in the mid 4 second range.........now thats fairly quick out of the hole for a 4500+ pound car. Is there another one quicker?

I know we all have a lot of pride here. But to be honest with you when I went from my Cobra to the magnum I was more than dissappointed at its quickness. Now its ability to gain speed quickly in third is one of the most impressive I've been in and with all that cladding it doesn't feel as brute force fast as my Cobra did. But if you look at the numbers, its a 4500lb beast with leather seats and interiioir luxury goodness, can fit 2x4's, sub 30k price, a roaring v8, and a sub 6 second 0-60. Like MomsR/T said, I dare you to find a quicker car with these credentials. If you are looking for all out performance get the 6.1, I would have if I could have afforded one. But remember, just like any other car, if you got the green you can make anything go! and the 5.7 is a good base for mods. Just my .02

Oh, and with the SC and Exhaust, you can make GT mustangs cringe all day, especially ones who are a little unschooled in the ways of the manual tranny.

When I look at a 300C I see a beautiful luxury car, along the lines of a Mercedes Benz, Jaguar etc. Fast but not Vette or Viper fast. However if you go to the drag strip and see SRT8 300's ripping off mid 11 sec quarter miles, well, now that's damned impressive. If you want an 8 sec car look elsewere- Mustang or 440 or hemi Dart. I think Srt hardware's mid 11 sec 300 probably don't catch a lot of shiat from anyone!

I've beaten Mustangs (guessing they were Stock) not by much but by enough.

Beaten Camaros (again guessing stock), BMW M3, Nissan 350Z, Nissan Maximas and a few others.

from dead stops, rolling starts and on the highway...

gotten my arse stomped by a Lexus IS350, and a Nissan Altima Hybrid that was Turbo'd on the Gas 2.5L motor..

gotten edged out by a Mustang SVT/Cobra and a hopped up Camaro SS..

got the floor wiped by a 1971 sleeper El Camino rust bucket with a blown LS6 (thing was a total rust bucket, looked like hell (on purpose I found out) with a 1000 hp blown LS6 that was shiny and clean).

5.7 Hemi... is it that fast ?

...no not really. Fast is relative, and to me its more than adequate but far from fast.

Yeah, If fast is what you want, buy the SRT or something lighter. I'm happy with my hp of my RT but I don't drag race. If I did, I'd buy something else. Maybe, a 6 speed 400hp GTO, or Cobra Mustang.

but those cars don't make the LX not fall into the catagory of "fast"...........they merely fall into a catagory of "fast and light"

But just because the LX's are not the FASTEST don't mean they're not fast...........

Meister's top speed w/ heads and cam was 176 mph, NorCal runs 11.4's, more than a few run in the 11's, all motor 5.7's running 12's all over the place, and full exhaust and a CAI run 13's

Def. not slow and way too fast to be considered average.........

There are lots of cars out there today that will run close to the RT, including 268hp V6 Toyota Camrys and Nissans. Like I said, I'm happy with the performance of my RT, but a drag racing machine is not what it is. It's just too heavy. Of course with modifications you can make anything run faster.

My Magnum has tons of room for 4 people, luggage, and it tows my boat. It is also faster than my last car, a 280hp 95 Mark VIII. It does not handle as well as the Mark though. I need a larger rear sway bar.
