    1006 miles in 27 hours.

Took a little trip this holiday weekend. Went to Michigan to drop off the kid for the summer at grandmas.
A couple of interesting things happened. I took off at 7:30am Friday morn. Just south of Louisville on I-65 I had a blue RoushCharged Mustang Convertible w/ "427" on the hood come flyin' down the onramp doing well over xxx. We played tag for a few miles until the traffic got heavy. I was in the 3rd lane doing xxx plus when blew past me like I was sitting still. Oh well, can't win them all. Seen a silver KY police Magnum on the southbound side with a customer. They were out in force this weekend, good thing for the CB! Made it to White Pigeon MI at 3:07pm.
7hrs 37min 496.3 miles. That includes stopping for breakfast in Glasgow and a couple "library" breaks for my daughter.
Saturday morning comes, and on the way home I was following two Baptist church vans doing xx in the fast lane. Too slow for me, so I hit it and was doing over xxx when I slid back to the left in front of them. They pulled over to the right (don't they always wait 'till you pass them to get over?) when I saw those magical blue lights fast aproaching from the rear. Crap! I'm awake now! Just past 7am and allready in trouble. Hit my turn signal, slid in behind the truck I was about to pass, and waited for the bumper to fill up with Indiania's finest. Well, let me tell you, he flew right on past me and pulled over the red Lexus 3 cars up. Right about then the CB wakes up and says there's a southbound smokie, disco lights all-a-flashin' with the hammer down. A tad late, but then the signal sometimes takes a while to get from the northbound side to the southbound side.
Made it home at 10:03 Sat, and still had two whole days off to watch 1100 miles of Racin'!
Fuel calc's showed 21.97avg. I'm quite happy with that.
Evic said 22mpg, so it wasn't far off. Glad I changed my tire diameter in the Superchips. The Mag ran flawless, super smooth at speed, and comfortable enough for the kid to fall asleep.

Sounds like fun, but risky fun..driving like that with a kid in the car is really looked down upon by the POPO.

Uh, child endangerment comes to mind.

Be careful Man, leave the triple digits for the track with proper gear on!

I didn't read anything past the first 6 or 7 sentences. Don't drive like that with a kid in the car. As a parent, all I to say to you is...

What the hell is wrong with you!?!

My child is 15 and has been driving for 3 years. I want to be the one to teach her how to correct a high speed skid, drive on black ice, do a rum-runners turnaround, and watch out for all the idiots that had an overworked geometry teacher for drivers ed. The whole time we are together in a car, she has me in her ear telling her to look for potential dangers. Parents don't (or shouldn't) let their kids go hunting by themselves at first. Why would anybody let them learn to stay alive from someone they don't know? I've been behind the wheel since I was 5 years old. Have driven the Autobahns of Germany for many years. 125 is slow over there. Their driving school cost in 1984 was over $1200. 500 signs to learn. America needs to get on the ball and teach them to drive, not just give them a piece of plastic for $30. Teach them right, and keep them alive. Yeah, maybe I'm an idiot, but my kids will learn to drive fast and safe from someone w/ high-speed experience, not the pimply-faced kid in a ricer w/ something to prove.

Just venting, I got stung by a scorpion last night and I'm a little worked up.
