    So Cal LX gathering?

    I’ve been thinking about getting together with some of the RT people and thought it might be nice to make it an all LX event. I further thought... what would be better than just gathering... would be burning down the 1/4 mile.

    Turns out that on AUG 21st there is a street legal drag event at the California Speedway in Fontana. That might be the perfect place to get together…. Participation in the drags is not required…

    EDIT:========================
    We are going to meet up at

    Coco's
    12469 Foothill Blvd
    Etiwanda, CA
    Phone: (909) 463-0884

    CLICK HERE FOR MAP

    At 12 noon, and then caravan to the drags.

    EDIT:========================

    Hey I thought you would be gone that weekend?I'm all for it...I was already planning on the Cucamonga SHOW but Fontana is a little more interesting.

    Count me in.

    On a side note...I came across a cool vanilla RT with silver ghost flames over here off of McKinley. It almost looks like the pics that were posted a few weeks ago..can't remember the post name. I left a note on the window telling them about the site and about getting together for a GROUP pic. Funny thing is I've never seen this car and then I ran INTO it again parked at a house in my neighborhood the very same day!

    If you want, I could pin the topic so more people see it.

    Only two of us so far? That’s weak... I thought for sure at least Cucamonga would be up for this?

    Perhaps this is not in the best forum for the proper exposure?

    WHERE:
    California Speedway, 9300 Cherry Avenue, Fontana The quarter-mile California Dragway is located in Parking Lot 1 behind the speedway's main grandstands.
    TIME:
    Tickets go on sale and Tech Inspection begins at 2 p.m. For early arrivals, a holding area in Parking Lot 2 will open at Noon with admission sales starting at 2 p.m. Racing is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. All activities will conclude at 11 p.m.
    COST:
    For participants and fans, the price is $10 per person to enter the speedway and $10 for race participants to purchase a Tech Card ($20 total for racers).
    Ive never been there, so Im just assuming that you can look for someone with a magnum/300 and park next to them...

    But it might be better to meet somewhere before hand and drive in together. Let me do some scouting and I'll come up with an appropriate location (maybe search for Denny's on my Nav system ). Or if someone knows of something... they could shout it out.

    I also think a meeting place before would be better. I am familiar with the roads in Fontana but don't know any landmarks to meet at. Anywhere is good with me.

    And thanks for the info Unholy.

    I should be able to get down there to meet some of you folks. No Magnum for me though. I only live 7 minute FROM the track.

    Just some info. If you want to race, get there around 12-12:30. they start selling tickets at 2pm, then you go thru tech. racing starts at 4pm.
    those watching will not be in the same parking lot as the racers.
    Expect long waits between runs for you racers. Like 2 hours. I suggest someone bring a bbq, because eating and bs'ing between rounds makes the time seem faster.
    Phil
