I was planning on taking my 67 Barracuda, but it looks like I'll have to attend a family event instead. My wife could have brought the R/T, too. Bummer.

Sigh.... You have to learn to pick your battles. My wife scheduled my son's first birthday for that day, so there's not much I can do. I told her I have the baby seat in the back of the Barracuda, so he could ride with me down the 1/4 mile, but that didn't go over well.

MIR is the only place I've raced the Barracuda, and it wasn't quite tuned right. I only did mid-14s last year. It's a 4 speed, so I couldn't get any traction, either. Even though I couldn't get traction, racing is a lot more fun with a stick.

I'm building a mild 383 for the Road Runner and I'll probably take it next year. I hope to have it in the 13s.

If anyone needs to contact me on Saturday morning, I'll have the cell phone on at 804-307-8345, ask for Robert. I'll be out of town Tues - Friday in Florida for business, so I won't be online much if all. I'll CHECK in Friday night as for plans for Saturday.

The 300M club guys, including myself will try and be in line by 9:30am at MIR front gates.

For the Southern GROUP - Pete Veiga (peterveiga@gmail.com)t (757) 646-9632

If you live in the VA Beach area and would like to caravan up, give me a call and we will meet at the McDonalds at the Fort Monroe exit just on the other side of the HRBT no later then 6:15 AM Saturday morning. Thomas the Sailor and myself (vegas) will be launching our caravan FROM there. I know some magnum owners are in the VA Beach area."

So it looks like the McDonald's in the Dahlgren area on 301 just about 3 miles south of the bridge will be the meeting spot for everyone coming FROM the south.
Lets do it, all attending that wish to meet up for breakfast and caravan to the raceway that are coming FROM SOUTH of the Rt 301Potomac river bridge, we will meet at the McDonalds in the Dahlgren area just before the bridge that crosses over to Maryland.

Ideally, for a breakfast and meet and greet, try to arrive at McDonalds by 8am. We will need to leave at 9am, and that should put us at the gates of MIR around 930am or just after. Feel free to email me at peterveiga@gmail.com if you want to let me know your intentions, or call me at 7576469632, this is my cell, and I will have it with me on the trip.

    Coming FROM the south:

    • Pete Veiga - 300M Club
Thomas the Sailor - 300M Club
Robert Powell - Dodge Magmun Net & 300M Club
Mr. and Mrs. Goofy - 300M Club
DJ Clause - Dodge Magmun Net
Tony T - Dodge Magmun Net
      snickle - Dodge Magmun Net

For the Northern GROUP - Don Scruggs (downrange@verizon.net) (202) 494-3766

McDonald's in Waldorf on 301 just about 1/4 miles south of the PG County/Charles County Line will be the meeting spot for everyone coming FROM the north.
I have to go INTO work Saturday morning at 5:00 AM but will get out of there abuot 7:30 AM. If you want to meet up as a rolling rondezvous on the Beltway around 7:45 AM That would be cool. Ican be on the inner loop rolling southbound by 7:40 AM. I will be getting off onto State Rt 5 (Branch Avenue) South at 7:55 and will arrive at the McDonalds in Waldorf by 8:10.

If you wish to meet up for breakfast and follow me to MIR, be at the McDonalds in Waldorf just at about 8:15.

We will need to leave at 8:45 AM, and that should put us at the gates of MIR around 9:30 AM or so. Feel free to email me at downrange@verizon.net so I can expect you, or call me on my cell phone at 202-494-3766.

    Coming FROM the north:

    • Don Scruggs 300M Club

I met some of you at Dinwiddie this past weekend, and I know that some of you are comiing FROM the Va Beach area. If you want to caravan FROM the Hampton Roads area, 600am is when Thomas the Sailor(300M club) and I are meeting at the McDonalds just on the north side of the HRBT, at the first exit(Fort Monroe). You can give me a call or email, 7576469632 or peterveiga@gmail.com to let me know if thats what you want to do.

I am vegas on the 300M board by the way, and if you were at Dinwiddie, the M that was runnin nitrous and damn near the same times as the R/T Magnums and C. Look forward to seeing you there. If not caravanning, then McD's in Dalghren area 3 miles south of 301 bridge INTO MD at 8am for breakfast. See ya!

Had fun. Wish more folks had shown up. What happened to djclause and tonyt? We missed you. Good to meet you Steve (snickle). Weather was a big issue, though it did not rain. FOG! Wet down the track and they could not dry it all due to jet dryer loosing a fuel pump, so we raced 1/8th mile instead of 1/4 mile.

Again, at the end of the day, the Magnum is showing it's faster than the 300C. Snickle got a 9.42 in the 1/8th and my best all day was only 9.52 sec.

I raced both the trophy and ET (money) classes and wound up with 10 runs (4 time, 6 elimination). Vegas and I got to 4th round (five cars left) in the trophy class and we broke out. No trophies for us (4th and 5th place), only 1st and 2nd got that. Everyone fell out of the ET class after the second round. I also raced about 3 HEMI Ram trucks throughout the day. One girl I beat in trophy, she bought back in and won, then I beat her again in the 2nd round. I felt bad for her. :D

Let's do some more of this in the Spring when race season starts up. I've got 19 passes to document my stock setup. Next is the dyno, then over the winter some mods. Leaning towards the Borla, but I wanna see what a header kit looks like. I hope one is coming out. 8)
